I have never asked anyone, "What's your sign?" It just so happens that my horoscope appears in the feed of my news home page. Yesterday it advised, "It's a good day to check in with parents, grandparents, and other bearers of family tradition. It could also be a good opportunity to track down genealogical information or reconnect with lost relatives." It just so happens we're in the final days of chaos leading up to my youngest daughter's wedding and doing the seating chart. Rationalizing the horoscope to what is happening at that moment in time was easy, since I did need to check with some of my long-distance relatives on where they would (or would not) like to sit for dinner. Still, it is also really good advice for anyone at any time! Any day is a good day to check in with your loved ones to chat about how they're doing and bring up a memory or two. Perhaps you'll learn something you didn't know about a new hobby or passion that is an important part of their life to be noted during a time of remembrance. It's a lot harder to learn these things if they become ill or when you're grieving a loss.

Watched a thought-provoking movie tonight, "Cha-Cha Real Smooth," written, produced, and directed by 25 year-old Cooper Raiff, who also starred in the film. As usual, when I see great stuff, I want to know more about the people behind the great stuff. In a recent interview, Raiff said one of his influences is a quote from the philosopher Albert Camus, who said, “Always think about death, because that’s the only way that life is lived to the fullest.” The only thing I would add that makes the advice even more poignant for the Love Always Project is to TALK ABOUT your meaningful life experiences with your friends and loved ones. In the end, this is what they will remember about you most — those things that made up YOUR particular zest for life! Thoughts, anyone?

This young, college-aged woman and her father are apple farmers in Washington State. This Father's Day post is a PERFECT example of how to make sure you hear the stories of your elders' lives. Not only for the sheer enjoyment of it, but also so you are able to celebrate and remember well when they are no longer living. Make these moments happen! https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTdEHCb51/?k=1

In Grief, Loss & Bereavement
I recently read that Thomas Jefferson, who experienced many great losses over his lifetime asked, "What is the use of grief?" Interesting question. Thoughts?
