COMMUNITY GUIDELINES
Welcome to The Love Always Project Forum!
The Love Always Project is a movement created to promote discussion about end-of-life issues, provide expert information and encourage people to preplan for their funeral as the ultimate act of love for those they will leave behind. Our mission is to engage, inform and empower people to prearrange, so it’s something that you want to do instead of something you avoid.
This community is a space for Love Always Project members to seek advice, ask questions, share experiences, offer support and connect with other members.
We want to ensure that this community remains a space that is positive, forward-thinking and supportive, and where everyone feels like they can learn and connect with others while feeling safe.

Our Commitment to This Community
We are committed to making this community space a respectful and harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sex, sexual orientation, disability, neuro(a)typicality, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, national origin, immigration status, age, political affiliation or religion.

What We Encourage You to Do in the Community
-
Share your challenges and ask for help when needed. Please feel free to share the challenges you’re going through (or questions you have) and ask for advice and guidance. It’s likely that others are going through or have experienced the loss of a loved one.
-
Choose the most relevant category for your topics. Using the correct category helps other forum visitors to find and contribute to your topic.
-
Create posts that are related to the question or discussion to which you’re responding. Use the search function to find questions or discussions that are related to your interests. If you are unable to find a related topic, start a new one by clicking New Post in the appropriate category.
-
Answer questions and support others. When you’re able to, please help others in the community by answering their questions, sharing your ideas and supporting them. Asking follow-up questions is a great way to engage and help focus your answers to people’s questions.
Note: While blatant self-promotion is not supported in this community, if you or your company have created a resource that would be truly useful in helping to support someone’s question or challenge, you can share it in response, with a disclaimer that it was created by you or your company.

-
Share helpful resources and tips. You are welcome to share any great resources you come across, as long as you are willing to engage in a conversation about them. When you do so, please provide context about why you’re sharing this resource or tip with the community.
-
Do not include personal information. To ensure your safety, security and privacy, never post your email address or any personal information you don’t want to share. Be cautious if you choose to contact others offline or ask others to contact you.
-
Be respectful of others’ opinions. When disagreeing on an issue, stay polite and assume good intent. Be open, kind and inclusive with one another, and you’ll make some wonderful connections and friendships along the way.

What We Do Not Allow in the Community
-
Self-promotion. This includes sharing links to articles written or resources created by you or your employer, promoting products or services offered by you or your employer, asking for members to vote for your products or services and any type of spam.
-
Sharing a resource without wanting to start a useful discussion around it.
-
Sharing the exact same post several times or across multiple categories.
-
Being rude, hateful or insulting.
-
Harassing other members. This includes offensive comments or jokes related to gender, gender identity and expression, sex, sexual orientation, disability, neuro(a)typicality, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, national origin, immigration status, age, political affiliation or religion; deliberate intimidation, stalking or following; threats of violence; unwelcomed sexual attention; trolling; continued one-on-one communication after requests to cease; and non-consensual publication of private correspondence.

Reporting Abuse and Consequences
If you see content that violates these Community Guidelines, please report the post by selecting “Report Post” in the overflow menu of a post. Do not respond to the post yourself.
If you are being harassed, or if you notice that someone in the Love Always Project Community is being harassed, please contact a Love Always Project team member via email (all reports are confidential) at members@lovealwaysproject.org.
If a member engages in behavior that violates the Community Guidelines, they may be given a warning or they may be asked to leave the community, depending on the severity of the behavior. If a member is asked to stop any harassing behavior, they are expected to comply immediately.
While we do not intend to delete any member’s posts or comments, if we ever see any cruel, offensive or harassing comments, trolling, graphic content or messages that feel like spam, we reserve the right to delete the post or comment.
We reserve the right to change these guidelines at any point in our effort to keep the forum positive, helpful and safe.
